Letzte Studie: Das Deckgeschehen im SV
Die Zahl aller jährlich beim SV registrierten Welpen hat sich in 15 Jahren reduziert von 34.685 anno 1993, auf circa 16.816 in 2007. Das ist schon eine beängstigende Entwicklung. Der Streit um die Deckgebühren wird dadurch intensiver. Nach wie vor, wird das Deckgeschehen aber dominiert von einigen wenigen Rüden und ihren Besitzern, solche die immer die Spitzenplätze belegt und sich einen Namen auf der Siegerhauptzuchtschau gemacht haben. Man will ja angeblich nur mit dem Feinsten vom Feinsten züchten, Vorzüglich Auslese soll es schon sein, oder nur geringfügig weniger.
Der Kuchen wird also durch wenige “Ausleser” verteilt. Ist das im Interesse der Rasse? Muss nicht gestreut werden? Muss nicht die breite Blutbasis ausgenutzt werden? Es gibt in 2007 laut SV-Informationen 1.259 verschiedene Deckrüden zur Auswahl. Leider darunter viele die möglicherweise nur 1 mal decken. Ihren Deckeinsatz dürfte vielleicht nur 400 Euro reinbringen, für diesen Preis bekommen Sie aber nicht die Leistungen der Topdeckrüden welche in meine Studie gelistet werden. Da müssen Sie schon einen Tausender hinblättern, es sei denn, Sie gehören zum Freundeskreis. Aber das ist eine andere Geschichte.

Some of the X-Rays taken from Indiana's hips. Positioning is not always immaculate, however the unilateral hip dysplasia is indisputable.
Amateurs have called it a "minor" CHD, experts called the hip "a Greek ruine".
